Speed51.com to Offer Television-Style Broadcast of Snowball Derby
(Pensacola, FL - November 8, 2017) -- For the fourth consecutive year, the Snowball Derby at Five Flags Speedway (FL) will be available to a worldwide audience via a television-style broadcast on Speed51.com. Five Flags Speedway officials and Speed51.com announced Wednesday that the 50th Annual Snowball Derby will be broadcast live through a pay-per-view broadcast on Speed51 TV.
Like all things that go along with the 50th Annual Snowball Derby, the live broadcast on Speed51.com will be bigger and better than ever in 2017. Beginning on Wednesday, November 29, all five days of racing from Pensacola, FL will be available for race fans to view worldwide.

The live broadcast of the 50th Annual Snowball Derby will be a TV-style motorsports broadcast with numerous camera angles, an in-house broadcasting announce team, including pit reporters, and an enhanced graphics to bring race fans closer to the action than ever before. Throughout the week, video features will also air throughout the broadcasts to bring fans the full story from the Snowball Derby's past and present.
"Everyone who knows me knows this is the event that I look forward to every year, but this time it's even more special with the 50th running of the Snowball Derby," said Bob Dillner, veteran Motorsports TV broadcaster and Executive Director of Speed51.com powered by JEGS. Speed51.com's weeklong coverage of the Snowball Derby will begin on Wednesday, November 29 at 6 p.m. CT with the Green Flag Pit Party, including the Super Late Model and Pro Late Model qualifying draw, and the Pure Stock feature.
New for 2017, Speed51 TV will be live for every Super Late Model and Pro Late Model session to hit the track. That includes the opening round of practice on Thursday morning, November 30. Once practice is completed for the Late Models, 51's cameras will take a break before going live again at 8 p.m. for the 50-lap Sportsman and Outlaw Stock feature races.
Friday's broadcast will showcase the most intense day in all of short track racing with time trials taking place for the Super Late Models. Nearly 70 drivers are expected to try at qualifying for the Snowball Derby, but only 30 of those drivers will look themselves in through qualifying. Additionally, all practice rounds for the Late Model divisions and the 75-lap Modified feature will be broadcast that day.
On Saturday, December 2, the Snowflake 100 will be the highlight of the night as Pro Late Model drivers compete in their biggest race of the season. Snowflake 100 qualifying and last chance races, as well as the Snowball Derby last chance race, will also be broadcast live from Five Flags. Additionally, race fans will be able to view the final practice sessions for both Late Model divisions that day.
All of this leads up to the granddaddy of them all, the 50th Annual Snowball Derby on Sunday, December 3. Speed51.com's live broadcast is slated to begin at noon, CT with a two-hour pre-race show featuring driver interviews, driver introductions and more.
At 2 p.m. CT, the green flag will wave for 300 laps of Super Late Model racing. Speed51 TV's flag-to-flag coverage will continue until the Snowball Derby winner kisses the Tom Dawson trophy in Five Flags Speedway victory lane.
While individual video tickets can be purchased for each day of racing, a five-day video ticket can be purchased for $74.99 and offers race fans a savings of $25.
If you're unable to watch all five days, an individual ticket to watch the 50th Annual Snowball Derby on Sunday is available for $34.99. Saturday's broadcast of the Snowflake 100 and more can be purchased for $29.99.
A video ticket to watch the intense Snowball Derby time trials and more on Friday is $19.99, while Thursday's action-packed schedule is available for $14.99.
Wednesday's racing and Green Flag Pit Party will be included in the five-day video ticket.
