September 26, 2013Rick Eckert Nabs Podium Finish in Down & Dirty 75; Roaring Knob Up Next
(YORK, PENNSYLVANIA) Rick Eckert and his #24 team traveled to the dirt-covered Berlin Raceway in Marne, Michigan on September 20-21 for a huge World of Outlaws Late Model Series showdown. Following a rain-out of the action on Friday night, the entire program was condensed into a one-day, $15,000 to win event on Saturday. Rick posted the fourth quickest lap in Group B during the qualifying session and later took the win in heat race action.
After drawing the pole position prior to the start of the 'Down & Dirty 75,' Rick paced the stellar field for the first 25 circuits. The York, Pennsylvania star then hung around the front of the pack for the remainder of the 75-lap distance and eventually finished third in the final rundown behind only victor Darrell Lanigan and runner-up Shane Clanton. Rick still finds himself fourth in the latest version of the WOOLMS point standings following Berlin. Full results from the 'Down & Dirty 75' can be obtained by clicking on www.woolms.com.
With the World of Outlaws Late Model Series taking the upcoming weekend off, Rick will jump behind the wheel of Paul Crowl’s #7 machine at the Roaring Knob Motorsports Complex in Markleysburg, Pennsylvania. The annual ‘Big Kahuna’ weekend has shifted to Roaring Knob and an unsanctioned $2,000 to win program will kick things off on Friday night, September 27. The Three State Flyer Super Late Model Series will then roll into Roaring Knob on Saturday evening, September 28 to preside over a $5,000 to win show.
