R.J. Conley Fourth in Johnny Salyer / Roger Breeding Memorial at 201 Speedway
(WHEELERSBURG, OH – April 7, 2016) R.J. Conley was the lone Conley Motorsports, Inc. driver to turn a wheel over the weekend, as his #71c team rolled into 201 Speedway in Sitka, Kentucky on Saturday, April 2 for the annual running of the 'Johnny Salyer / Roger Breeding Memorial.' The Super Late Model special in the Commonwealth of Kentucky was unsanctioned and boasted a $3,000 top prize.
R.J. clicked off the third quickest lap during the qualifying session and later placed fourth in the fast dash. Following a fourth place start in the 30-lap main event, R.J. climbed to as high as second in the running order and battled Tim Dohm for the lead late in the distance. After an unsuccessful bid for the point took him out of the preferred racing groove, the Wheelersburg, Ohio ace slipped back to fourth at the checkers behind only winner Dohm, Josh Hall, and Eddie Carrier, Jr. Complete results can be obtained by clicking on www.201speedway.net.
With most of the dirt-slinging action wiped out across the region already for the upcoming April 8-9 weekend, the Conley Motorsports, Inc. teams will enjoy a rare weekend off from competition. Brothers Rod and R.J. Conley will race next on Friday, April 15 at Moler Raceway Park in Williamsburg, Ohio, as the Battle of the Bluegrass Ultimate Super Late Model Series will roll into the Buckeye State to preside over a $3,000 to win throwdown. All four CMI drivers will then descend upon Atomic Speedway in Alma, Ohio on Saturday, April 16 for a weekly Super Late Model battle, which will pay $2,250 to the winner.
