R.J. Conley Continues PRP Success with Fifth Victory of 2019 Season!
(WHEELERSBURG, OH – September 25, 2019) R.J. Conley and his #71c team celebrated in victory lane for the fifth time in 2019 on Saturday evening, September 21 at Portsmouth Raceway Park in Portsmouth, Ohio! R.J. clicked off the second quickest lap overall during qualifying and won his heat race to earn the outside of the front row for the start of the 25-lap weekly Super Late Model main event. The Wheelersburg, Ohio hotshoe then grabbed the point on the second circuit and led the remainder of the feature distance to pocket the $2,000 windfall well ahead of Eric Wells, Brandon Fouts, Rod Conley, and Kenny Christy. While his brother Rod placed third in his heat race prior to knocking down the fourth place effort, his son J.T. Conley ran sixth in his heat race before steering past five competitors in the finale to post a solid sixth place showing.
Delmas Conley, the patriarch of the racing Conley family, found himself at Atomic Speedway in Alma, Ohio on Saturday night for a similar $2,000 to win contest. The Dirt Late Model Hall of Famer posted the second fastest time during the qualifying session, but was unfortunately caught up in a grinding heat race wreck. Due to the damage inflicted to his #71 Rocket Chassis, Delmas was unable to make the start in the weekly Super Late Model headliner. Full results from both southern Ohio facilities can be viewed online at www.atomicspeedway.net and www.portsraceway.com.
With R.J. slated to take the upcoming September 27-28 weekend off from racing competition, the other three Conley Motorsports, Inc. (CMI) drivers will converge at Atomic Speedway in the Chillicothe area this Saturday, September 28 for a weekly program for the ground-pounding Super Late Models. Delmas has reached victory lane on two different occasions at the former K-C Raceway in 2019, while Rod and J.T. will both be searching for their first win of the season in the $2,000 to win event.
