NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series 2017 Week 7 Round Up
(Cartersville, GA – May 8, 2017) Another week of racing in the NeSmith Weekly Racing Series brings about new winners, and a new points leader. With Hunter Carroll taking the weekend off to run with the Touring Division, Tim Dees has now secured the top spot with a 25 point lead over Carroll after 7 weeks of the 27 week long season are complete.
Headlines from Week 7:
- Billy Flannagan Jr. picked up another victory for 2017 on Saturday night at ECM Speedway in Arkadelphia, AL.
- Joe Mike found victory lane at Camden Motor Speedway in his new CVR Race Car on Saturday night.
- NeSmith Street Stock competitor Tyler Turvin has made the move up to the NeSmith Late Model ranks and picked up his first victory on Friday night at Columbus Speedway in Columbus, MS.
- Shannon Lee grabbed the checkered flag in Saturday night action at LA 36 Speedway in Lacombe, LA.
- Chris Kratzer was Friday night's winner at Salina Speedway in Salina, KS.
- Jake Neighbors picked up the first ever NeSmith Late Model win at Junction Motor Speedway in McCool Junction, NE on Saturday night as they hosted their first NeSmith sanctioned event.
- Coming off the Touring Season Opener victory in early April, Greg Fore returned to Weekly Racing Series action at his home track Greenville Speedway in Greenville, MS to claim another victory.
- 2016 NeSmith Street Stock National Champion Spencer Hughes parked his #11 machine in Victory Lane during Saturday night's action at "The House of Hook" - Whynot Motorsports Park in Meridian, MS.
