(Cartersville, GA – 4/24/17)- Week 5's highlight can be mostly summed up with one name - Mother Nature. Of the twelve races on the Week 5 schedule, just half(6) were able to beat the weather and complete their programs.

Headlines from Week 5:

• Ryan Carter visited Cochran Motor Speedway on Saturday night to pick up his first win of the 2017 season.
• Shep Lucas grabbed a pair of victories over the weekend with a Friday night win at Hattiesburg Speedway and then followed up with a NeSmith Panhandle Challenge Series win on Saturday night at Southern Raceway in Milton, FL.
• Friday night's NeSmith Late Model win at Columbus Speedway in Columbus, MS went to Jeremy Shaw in the #1s Bassett Hound Motorsports GRT.
• Scott Ladner picked up the checkered flag on Saturday night at LA 36 Speedway in Lacombe, LA.
• Shane Riner drove his Rocket Chassis to his second straight victory at Oglethorpe Speedway Park in Pooler, GA on Friday night.
• Hunter Carroll remains atop the point standings after five weeks of action.
