NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series 2017 Week 16 Round Up

Jonathan Joiner celebrates his $1,000 Panhandle Challenge Series win at Southern Raceway.

(Cartersville, GA – July 9, 2017)    Week 16 is now in the rearview mirror, and Hunter Carroll still maintains his position atop the NeSmith Weekly Racing Series National Point standings. Kody Barber maintains the second spot, and several drivers are beginning to make moves toward the top 10 after their seasons are finally getting underway. 11 Weeks remain and it appears that the Chase for the Championship will come down to the wire!

Headlines from Week 16:

  • Jeremy Shaw picked up the Friday night win at Columbus Speedway in Columbus, MS.

  • The "Ice Man" Delbert Smith took home the top prize on Monday July 3rd during NCRA action at the Belleville High Banks.

  • Christopher Reid was the winner at Chatham Raceway in Chatham, LA as they run a few select shows for NeSmith Late Models in 2017.

  • Ben Garner grabbed the win on Saturday night at Jerry Russell's Camden Motor Speedway.

  • Shep Lucas picked up the Tuesday night win at Flomaton Speedway in Panhandle Challenge Series action.

  • Greg Wilhite tamed "Alabama's Action Track" by taking home the win on Saturday night at North Alabama Speedway.

  • Dusty Leonard put his #7D machine in victory lane at Salina Speedway in Salina, KS on Friday night.

  • 2016 NeSmith Street Stock National Champion Spencer Hughes visited victory lane on Saturday night at Whynot Motorsports Park.

  • Michael Zimmerman picked up the Friday night win at Clayhill Speedway in Atwood, TN.

  • Shane Riner was victorious in Monday night action at Cochran Motor Speedway in Cochran, GA.

  • Noah Daspit picked up the Friday night week 11 make-up and Saturday night week 16 wins at LA 36 Speedway in Lacombe, LA.

  • Jonathan Joiner is $1,000 richer after winning Saturday night's Panhandle Challenge event at Southern Raceway in Milton, FL.

  • Tyler Burgess was the winner on Friday night at Hattiesburg Speedway.

  • Cliff Ross claimed the checkered flag on Saturday night at Jackson Motor Speedway.

  • Josh Leonard continues his hot streak with victories at Junction Motor Speedway on Saturday night and Lexington Raceway on Sunday night in his home state of Nebraska.
