Nasse Scores Another Top 10 at Florida Governor's Cup

(Pinellas Park, FL – November 14, 2017)   Stephen Nasse considers the high-banked half-mile of New Smyrna Speedway in New Smyrna Beach, Florida to be his home race track. The driver from Pinellas Park, Florida scored his first Super Late Model win at the legendary track a few years ago in addition to having thousands of laps there.

That's why any time Nasse races at New Smyrna Speedway, he expects to win. On Sunday, Nasse finished seventh in the Florida Governor's Cup 200 at New Smyrna, and as a result he was left wondering why he didn't win.

"I'm pretty disappointed that we didn't win," Nasse stated.  "I definitely feel like New Smyrna should be our best race track on our schedule and as far as I'm concerned we just weren't where we needed to be. Sometimes you'll have those races, so we'll just try to learn from this one and go from there."

Where Nasse will head from there is down to Pensacola, Florida where he will pull Super and Pro Late Model double-duty at the historic Five Flags Speedway for the 50th Annual Snowball Derby and the Allen Turner Snowflake 100 in early December.

The 2017 Southern Super Series champion struggled in qualifying for both races but was a contender for the win in the late stages of each event in 2016. When asked if he'll be able to rebound down in Pensacola, Nasse had a very simple answer.

"I sure hope so," he said.

Race fans can watch Stephen Nasse in both the Snowflake and the Snowball Derby live on Speed51.com on December 2-3.
