Fall Brawl shaping up to be the “Belle of the Ball”of Sportsman races in 2016!

When promoter Ronnie Bacelo mentioned at the beginning of the season that he would be hosting the Fall Brawl Sportsman Invitational 200 event it was kinda shrugged off. Now only 15 days from happening its all coming together pretty damn good.

The Sportsman division is a very competitive division and some of Florida’s best talent lurks amongst these machines. It’s an affordable division where the cars show off some of the baddest wedge bodied warriors south of the Florida-Georgia line.

Forty drivers were invited with all intentions of only starting 30, this would leave 10 to lose to various reasons. Now with only 15 days to go there are currently 22 pre-paid entries and more coming in everyday with the deadline being August 13th. The Brawl is definitely going to be the “Belle of the Ball” for the Sportsman division in 2016.

All 200 laps will be sponsored and will not all go to just the winner. The monies will be distributed to different positions throughout the field on each lap to give everyone a chance to cash-in at the payout window. Special Thanks to everyone that sponsored laps for this event.

The race is an impound race where all drivers will not be issued their tires until right before qualifying to keep the ‘Tire Chemist” from doing their job. Once the teams are issued their tires they will be sent to the infield for qualifying. Once the last car has qualified the field will be set for the first running of the “FALL BRAWL SPORTSMAN 200”. The cars will then be lined up on the front straight for driver introductions.

The race will be 200 laps with a 15 minute “Catch your breath, Grab a drink” kinda break. Track officials will make sure that each driver has a bottled water as soon as they exit the race car. No crews will be allowed to cross onto the track until all drivers are out of their cars and given the signal to do so. There will only be 3 people allowed per car that is still running at lap 100.

Any car that mysteriously gets a flat during this break will lose a lap per flat. If it is deemed that the tires were tampered with that car and driver will be disqualified at that time. No exceptions. We are hoping for a safe and exciting race for all the fans in attendance.

Super Late Model standout 10 Jeff Scofield has sealed a spot for this event as well as 157 Jason Rendell, 28 Sean Bass, 23 Mike Smith, 407 Jason Vail and 84 Bill VanDevender just to name a few. The action will be intense and will guarantee not to disappoint.

Desoto Speedway encourages everyone to help spread the word about this huge event and let’s show the state of Florida what Sportsman racing is all about. There will also be several other divisions on tap including the Desoto Pro Truck division.
