Donald McIntosh Enjoys Successful Debut with Big Frog Motorsports - Team Claims Win and Pair of Runner-Up Finishes

(Ocala, FL  -  April, 16, 2018) – Big Frog Motorsports and Donald McIntosh made their debut together over the weekend. The new partnership would pay big dividends. By the time the dust had settled on the final event they had collected a win and a pair of runner-up finishes with their M&W Transport #58 Rocket XR1/ Clements Racing Engine Super Late Model

“It’s pretty amazing to see what we were able to accomplish over the weekend,” McIntosh said. “Until a week ago, I had never even talk to the team, and now here we are with some really good runs under our belt. I wish we could’ve grabbed at least one more win, but overall I was really happy with our first weekend together. I just want to thank Augie (Burttram) and Mike (Rey) for providing me with such a great opportunity.”

Thursday night saw Donald McIntosh make his first start of the season behind the wheel of the Big Frog Motorsports #58 Super Late Model entry at Tri-County Racetrack (Brasstown, North Carolina). Earning the outside-front-row starting spot for the A-Main via preliminary events, McIntosh overtook the leader on the second lap and held the top spot for the remaining 28 circuits to capture his first win with Big Frog Motorsports and a $1,500 payday. Shaw Chastain, Jamie Oliver, Kurt English, and Cody King completed the Top-5 finishers in the 30-lap affair.

Friday night found the team at the “Bad Fast Taz” as they looked to tame the legendary Tazewell Speedway (Tazewell, Tennessee). With 30 entries in action for the Schaeffer’s Oil Spring Nationals event, McIntosh earned the seventh-starting spot for the feature via preliminary action.

Donald patiently worked his way through the field and would challenge Dakotah Knuckles for the lead late in the event, before ultimately settling into a runner-up finish in the $5,000-to-win affair. Billy Ogle Jr., Shanon Buckingham, and Eric Wells rounded out the Top 5.

The tripleheader weekend drew to a close on Saturday night with the annual Scott Sexton Memorial at Volunteer Speedway (Bulls Gap, Tennessee). The $10,052-to-win program brought a talent-laden field of 26 entries to the 4/10-mile, clay oval.

McIntosh won his heat race to earn the outside-front-row starting spot for the 52-lap event. He paced the field for the first 44 laps before Dale McDowell was able to slip past on a restart. The Big Frog Motorsports #58 went on to finish second behind McDowell. Jimmy Owens, Casey Roberts and Cory Hedgecock completed the Top-5 finishers.
