Conleys Enjoy Solid Independence Day Weekend in Buckeye State of Ohio

(WHEELERSBURG, OH – July 6, 2017)     Brothers Rod and R.J. Conley were busy last weekend leading up to Independence Day, as one or both of them were in action at four different Ohio facilities from June 30-July 3.  The hectic weekend kicked off on Friday night at Midway Speedway in Crooksville, Ohio with a $4,444 to win topless AMRA special.  Rod stormed to a stellar fourth place performance in the 44-lapper after crossing the checkers behind only race winner Freddie Carpenter, Zack Dohm, and Michael Davis.

The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series then took center stage in the Buckeye State, as high-profile showdowns were held at Portsmouth Raceway Park in Portsmouth, Ohio, Mansfield Motor Speedway in Mansfield, Ohio, and Muskingum County Speedway in Zanesville, Ohio.  At PRP on Saturday evening, R.J. pitted for new tires during the $12,000 to win 'Independence 60' and salvaged a seventh place showing, while Rod wound up eleventh in the final rundown of the 60-lap affair.

"Hot Rod" was the lone Conley Motorsports, Inc. (CMI) driver in attendance on Sunday in the $10,000 to win tilt at Mansfield and was credited with a fifteenth place effort.  In the $12,000 to win weekend finale on Monday at Zanesville, Rod blitzed past fourteen competitors during the 60-lap feature en route to a sixth place finish, while R.J. retired with overheating issues in the twenty-first spot.  Complete results from all four weekend races can be found online on the Midway Speedway Facebook page and http://www.lucasdirt.com.

While R.J. and his #71c team plan to take the upcoming July 7-8 weekend off from racing action, Delmas and Rod Conley both plan to sling some dirt on Saturday in a weekly Super Late Model show at Atomic Speedway in Alma, Ohio.  Rod also plans to be in competition on Friday at Moler Raceway Park in Williamsburg, Ohio in the unsanctioned 'Phantom Fireworks 30.'  Both races boast a $2,000 top prize.  Additional information can be accessed by clicking on http://www.molerracewaypark.com and http://atomicspeedway.net.
