Conley Motorsports, Inc. Finally Beats Mother Nature to Compete in Buckeye Spring 50
(WHEELERSBURG, OH – April 18, 2018) Conley Motorsports, Inc. (CMI) finally unloaded for the first time in 2018 on Friday evening, April 13 in the 'Buckeye Spring 50' at Atomic Speedway in Alma, Ohio! The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series once again presided over the single-day shootout, which drew 30 competitors to vie for the $12,000 top prize. Rod Conley qualified twelfth quickest in Group B during the time trial session before finishing eighth in his loaded heat race. He then advanced past several cars during the B-Main to grab the fifth transfer spot into the 50-lap main event. "Hot Rod" then steered his XR1 Rocket Chassis by eight competitors in the 'Buckeye Spring 50' to nab a respectable thirteenth place effort against national competition in his season lid lifter.
R.J. Conley also unloaded his #71c machine at Atomic on Friday night and promptly laid down the eighth fastest lap in Group A during qualifying. He was then running in a coveted transfer position in his heat race before unfortunately going for a spin in turn four. R.J.'s mount suffered damage in the incident and he was not able to make the call for the B-Main, which kept him out of the 50-lapper that was eventually won by Scott Bloomquist. This coming weekend, Rod Conley will be the lone CMI driver in dirt-slinging action, as he will take his #71r mount to Midway Speedway in Crooksville, Ohio on Saturday night, April 21. The annual 'King of Hillbilly Hill' will take place at Midway and the unsanctioned Super Late Model special will boast a $5,000 winner's check.
