Conley Motorsports, Inc. Amasses Trio of Top Fives over Hectic Holiday Weekend!

(WHEELERSBURG, OH – July 5, 2018)  The Conley Motorsports, Inc. (CMI) teams were very busy over the extended weekend leading up to the 4th of July holiday, as they were participants in four different high-profile events from June 29-July 3 in the states of Kentucky and Ohio.  Things kicked off last Friday at 201 Speedway in Sitka, Kentucky with the annual running of the 'Paul H. Salyer Memorial,' which was sanctioned by the Schaeffer's Oil Iron-Man Championship Series.  R.J. Conley won his heat race in preliminary action and led the first ten circuits in the $10,000 to win headliner before ultimately winding up second behind only victor Zack Dohm.  His brother Rod Conley placed third in heat race action prior to blasting past seven competitors en route to a strong fourth place effort in the 50-lapper.

On Saturday evening, the cars and stars of the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series rolled into the nearby Portsmouth Raceway Park in Portsmouth, Ohio for the 'Independence 50.'  Rod won his heat race and later ran amongst the leaders throughout the $12,000 to win contest before bringing home an impressive fourth place showing behind only race winner Jason Jameson, Josh Richards, and Scott Bloomquist.  R.J. finished fifth in his heat race, second in his B-Main, and thirteenth in the 50-lap headliner at PRP.  Patriarch Delmas Conley was also in action at the track, which is located on the banks of the Ohio River, but was unable to transfer into the 'Independence 50' after running eighth in both his heat race and his B-Main.

At Mansfield Motor Speedway in Mansfield, Ohio in another LOLMDS battle on Sunday night, another $12,000 top prize was on the line in the 2nd Annual 'Freedom 50.'  R.J. placed second in his loaded heat race and later started/finished sixth in the 50-lap main event behind only victor Don O'Neal, Scott Bloomquist, Jimmy Owens, Earl Pearson, Jr., and Hudson O'Neal.  Rod, on the other hand, ran third in heat race action prior to winding up eighteenth in the final rundown of the 'Freedom 50.'  The four-race extended weekend then wrapped up on Tuesday at Muskingum County Speedway in Zanesville, Ohio and Rod, who was the lone (CMI) entrant, finished third in his stacked heat race and fifteenth in the $12,000 to win Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series special.  Full results from each of these races can be accessed online www.lucasdirt.com.

A much lighter schedule will greet Conley Motorsports, Inc. this upcoming weekend.  With R.J. Conley opting to take the weekend off from racing competition, Delmas and Rod Conley will take their respective teams north on Highway 23 to Atomic Speedway in Alma, Ohio.  Both CMI drivers will vie for the $2,000 winner's check on Saturday night, July 7 in a weekly Super Late Model program.  More information on this show can be viewed online www.atomicspeedway.net.
