Fuel, petrol, go-go juice… whatever you call it, the fuel we use to power our beloved vehicles has always been somewhat of a mystery to many. From trying to figure out octane ratings to wondering what its shelf life, it always seems that many of our fuel related questions go unanswered.  That is, until now.

On this week’s episode of the Hemmings Hot Rod BBQ, we welcome Race Fuel Technical Specialist and Chemical Engineer, Zach Santner along with Russ Bradford, Sunoco’s Race Fuel Sales Manager to dispel the myths and answer some questions that surround modern-day fuels. From octane ratings and race fuels, to long term storage and fuel additives like ethanol, this is an episode that no collector vehicle enthusiast should miss.  In the spirit of racing, we’ve also pulled a one-of-a-kind 1969 John Greenwood Corvette racecar from our classified section that participated at 24 Hours of Le Mans and set a GT speed record of 215 mph on the Mulsanne straight during qualifying.
